I’m writing this review as I shiver just discovering that the firm I was interviewing gave me the top compensation I was asking for. Your job is to do your job, design, write, code. It’s not getting hired. Too often I saw people who are great at interviewing and job search but suck at actually doing the work. I was on the opposite side of that. I was great at doing my job [architecture] and not so good at communicating my value, I felt I needed a help of a professional but hiring a recruiter seemed too artificial. So I got this book and boy, it worthed a thousand times of its cost. I asked 20% increase to my current job, and got it without any bargains.Don’t waste your time. If you’re looking for a job you owe this book to yourself. Allow at least a week to read it. So if you are shooting out your resumes, that’s the perfect time to get the book.
Best job search and interview prep book hands down. Andy is the real deal. I took his webinars and watched his excellent YouTube videos and they go well with the book. Andy is warm and super helpful in person as well and has a passion for helping job seekers excel to close the gap in the difficult job market. Highly recommended and the book is easy to read and full of good tips. I feel like Andy is my ride along coach there at every step of the way in my journey toward the ultimate job for me.
Began the job hunting process recently after pondering a career change for some time. After more than 9-years of doing the same thing, the idea of even putting a resume together seemed daunting let alone actually interviewing. I ran across Andy's videos on YouTube and after watching a few decided this guy really knows his stuff. If you're serious about getting truly prepared in advance of interviewing this is where to go. Truly helping me prepare rather than simply winging it.
One of the Interview books on the market. Read it, learn it and use it. Also, Mr. Lacivita's YouTube videos are incredibly helpful and work with this book. It only took a brief time to read it, but the skills you learn from it will last a lifetime. Learn to tell your stories and sell yourself first and learn the company second.
You could spend $100 on this book and it would still be well worth the price, yet is it under $12! If you are looking for a job, or just want to learn how the process works - buy this book. It's well written, and full of Andy's lifetime of experience on the hiring process. You will not get a better return on your money than this. I've read this book, and anytime I hear of a friend who is looking for a job, I send them this book. In a very short time, they are hired! I don't think there can be a better endorsement than that.
Very helpful as I upgrade my position. This was incredibly helpful and not full of fluff.
Too complicated to understand for entry level eventhoug good
