This book has wonderful characters, a great story of grief, anger, and healing. And finding love again. It is a very enjoyable book with heart.
I felt all of the emotions of the characters. My heart hurt, my heart was angry, and my heart soared with joy. It was so well written. I absolutely loved this book!
As always Taylor hit it on the nail! I have been a follower of the Last Play series. I loved this series!

There wasn't anything I didn't like about that story...well I guess it coming to an end was a bit disappointing. I felt every emotion that the characters experienced. So very touching. Well done.
This felt like it could be a Hallmark movie but it was kind of dark at the same time. This is because the book was dealing with grief. Both of the main players had lost spouses and a child and are still dealing with the trauma. And they don't deal with it the same way. It was interesting to see how each character helped the other to heal through their friendship.There are some religious themes in the story but not too much. And a theme of having to forgive to fully heal. I think that is a concept that is difficult for many just as it was difficult for these two.The story is a romance though there isn't really that much romance through out. Isabel and Cam had obviously grown to love each other but their relationship was built more on helping each other work through their issues. And truly I think the story could have ended with them going their separate ways and still have been a good happily ever after since they were able to overcome the paralyzing grief and move on. But there is an epilogue that gives us the romantic ending HEA as well.Sex: noLanguage: a little-mildViolence: occurred prior to the beginning of the book
The Midnight Groom - I'm so sorry I missed The Football Groom, which was the beginning of Kat and Cam's relationship and marriage. Even without that foundation, this story was wonderful anyway. I enjoyed the storylines very much. There was a lot of pain from both characters and their healing started with their meeting. The characters were likable, lovable and interesting. The sister was the best, but Kat and Cam were perfect in their roles.There is humor amongst all the tragedies. Everything in this story was handled with respect and maturity, something missing in many of today's books. This is probably now one of my top four favorite Christmas romance stories. The writing style is relaxed, yet gives a lot of information, emotions and love, while keeping the reader immersed in this lovely story. I appreciate the lack of stupidity in the story and the characters and the storylines. I could read more of this author's work in a heartbeat.There are sneak peeks at The Betting Groom; The Risky Groom by Carly Morgan; and The Haunted Groom by Karly Stratford. I contacted the author to review her books and she shared this one with me. A heartfelt thank you, Taylor. 5*The Christmas Girlfriend - This is my first book by this author and I found the book OK. I like that it is a clean and romantic book. The characters ranging in their intensity, from lovable to feisty; especially Grandpa. Even though this book appears to be part of a series, the few references to the past didn't confuse or make me wish I had read them first; this is a well written standalone.Zoey has to handle more than most but she's not a prima donna but a regular, intelligent person doing the best she can. Both she and her fake boyfriend learn that dreams can change into something just as good and actually was better for both to take another road. I contacted the author to review her book. 4*
I have enjoyed all of the Last Play Romances. They have great characters and story-lines. The Midnight Groom is an emotional hard hitter. Have a hanky ready! The theme of forgiveness, and what forgiveness is all about is so strong throughout the book. As Cameron and Isabel show us as they process their griefs, life isn’t about the difficulties we face, it’s who we become because of the difficulties. Do we forgive, and become gracious, or do we hold grudges and become bitter? Do we process our hurts by hurting others or by helping? Don’t expect to walk away from this story the same person as when you started it. The Midnight Groom is a wonderfully entertaining love story that will inspire you to be a better person!
